Green Bank founder Manuel J. Mehos is familiar with this arcane art. He recently shared his experience at the September 2011 Keynote Event for TiE Houston in spotting opportunity and growing two successful banks during difficult financial times - the 80s savings and loan crisis and the recent financial meltdown and recession. Tapping experience in the capital markets, he also offered insights on how businesses can find investment dollars in the near-term while navigating increasing compliance and legislation requirements.

Manny Mehos is the founder of Green Bancorp, Inc., parent company of Green Bank. Combining an acquisition and organic growth strategy, the bank has grown assets to $1 billion since its $228 million start in December 2006. In the last year, the bank has completed a $100 million capital raise transaction and opened commercial and private banking offices in Dallas. Currently, the bank is working on another Dallas location and the acquisition of a three-branch bank based in north Houston.
